Online Retailing

According to data firm comScore, retail online sales in the U.S. were up 15 per cent between Nov.1 and Dec. 26, 2011.

This is a good increase in tough economic times, and they say a lot of this has to do with how much better retail websites have become, including the ability to rotate the image of a product 360 degrees. Such improvements lower the risk for a customer of placing an order only to open a package and find the item wasn't what he or she was expecting.

Even with this, UPS expected to handle more than 550,000 returns on the first retail day after the holidays, and this makes it the busiest day of the year for them.
