Fruit Fly Catcher

The lowly fruit fly is a menace in our house at this time of year, and until now there appeared to be no defense. This has changed. A jar with plastic food wrap stretched across the top gets the job done nicely. The wrap is held in place with a rubber band, and you punch a few very small holes in the top with a fork or other sharp object. Put some cherries or other food the flies like in the jar, and you're done. The flies will find their way in, they will have difficulty finding their way out.
