Windows 7 - Turn Off Microsoft Security Essentials

If you need to turn off your Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) anti-virus software to install a new program, follow these steps:

• select 'Start' - bottom left corner
• choose 'All Programs'
• select 'Microsoft Security Essentials' - near the top of the list
• select 'Settings'
• uncheck 'Turn On Real Time Protection'
• 'Save Changes'

Be sure to turn MSE back on after you're done.
